burgas airport
From April to October there are many flights from and to England, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Russia, Norway, Finland, Germany, Netherlands, Slovakia etc. The rest of the year there is flights mostly from England. The airport is 15 km from the coliving and on your arrival day we can work with an English speaking driver that can pick you up.
Varna airport
It is an International Airport with a lot of flying destinations. From Varna there is a bus in every 30 minutes and it takes around 2:30 hours to get from the Airport to Burgas Coliving.
Istanbul airport
One of the biggest Airports in Europe with direct flights to almost everywhere. There is a bus line between Burgas and Istanbul and the trip is around 5 hours.
Sofia Airport
This is the biggest Airport in Bulgaria with a lot of options of direct flights from Europe and international destinations. From Sofia to Burgas there is a highway road which takes 3 hours by car, 5 hour by Bus and 6-7 hours by train.
International Busses
Take the bus from and to Athens, Dortmund, Instanbul & Insbruck to the Burgas South bus station.
Or just come by car!
Do I need a car?
You can get by without a car, but if you enjoy your freedom or you want to explore different areas in Burgas, then it nice to have. You can rent a car at the Burgas airport. Here are all the other transport options you have in and around Burgas
Public transport
The public transport is good, the bus stop is very close to the coliving, always right on time, there is buses from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00p.m. Before catching the bus, know that you can buy ticket only from a conductor in the bus, which will come to you and you have to pay 1,50lv (0,75€) for a ticket, which means that you must have Bulgarian currency.
Taxi
There are a lot of options of taxi companies. Usually a ride from Burgas coliving to the city center costs 10 to 12 euro. A ride from Burgas coliving to the airport around 15 euro. We work with an English speaking taxi driver that can come pick you up on your arrival day.
bicycle
There is public rent-a-bike system in Burgas and over 20km of cycling lanes in the city. The “Velo Burgas” rent-a-bike system has 8 access points throughout the city. The rent-a-bike system works with cards, SMS, and POS.
Lime Scooters
The city center has a network of Lime scooters that you can rent with the Lime app. It’s an easy and fast way to make your way to different destinations in the city centre.
What is the average temperature in Burgas?
Burgas, situated on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, experiences a temperate continental climate. The average temperature varies greatly throughout the year. The coldest month is January, with average lows of -1°C (30°F). On the flip side, the warmest month is typically July, when temperatures can reach an average high of 28°C (82°F).
How is the weather in Burgas during summer?
Burgas's summer weather is characterized by warm temperatures, with July being the hottest month. Average high temperatures during the summer months often reach 28°C (82°F), and lows average around 18°C (64°F). It's an excellent time for outdoor activities and water sports, given the comfortable water temperatures in the Black Sea.
What type of winter weather can I expect in Burgas?
Winters in Burgas are generally mild compared to the interior of the country. The average low temperature in January, the coldest month, is around -1°C (30°F). Snowfall is infrequent, but cold spells can occur, so it's best to pack warm clothing if you're visiting in winter.
Is Burgas suitable for visiting all year round considering the weather?
Yes, Burgas can be visited all year round, depending on your preference for weather conditions. The summer months offer warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, ideal for beach activities and water sports. Spring and autumn are excellent for sightseeing and outdoor adventures, with fewer tourists and milder weather. Even in winter, the weather remains relatively mild, offering a different perspective of the city's attractions.
Meals in the house
On Saturday or Sundays we have Traditional Bulgarian homemade breakfast at 10 am and family – all included in your rate! Other than that, each person is responsible for their own food.
BBQ
In summer, we try to have a BBQ in the backyard once per week.
How often are family dinners/lunches organized?
Family dinners are an integral part of our community culture, and we organize these communal meals several times a week. The exact schedule can vary, but we generally aim to have them at least twice or thrice a week.
Where can I do my groceries?
Down the road from the coliving, a short walk away, there are multiple grocery shops and mini markets that have everything you need, open from 7am to 10pm. There are also multiple fruit and vegetable stores, a butcher, a pharmacy, bakery and pizza place. Burgas also has more well-known supermarket brands like Lidl and Kaufland, a short drive away from the coliving.
Cooking facilities
We have a fully equipped kitchen, two big ovens, several fridges and freezer and everything you need to cook some delicious food!
How do you cater to dietary restrictions or preferences?
We respect and accommodate various dietary restrictions or preferences as much as possible. When preparing meals, we ensure that there are options available for vegetarians, vegans, or those with specific dietary needs. We encourage all colivers to communicate their dietary preferences in advance.
Who prepares the meals for these family dinners?
The meals for our family dinners are prepared by the colivers themselves. It's a collaborative effort where everyone can contribute, either by cooking, setting up, or cleaning up after the meal. It's a great way to share culinary skills and dishes from different cultures.
Do you accept all types of pets at your coliving space?
While we are a pet-friendly coliving space, due to the presence of our resident dogs and cat, we kindly request potential guests to contact us directly with information about their pet(s). This way, we can ensure a harmonious coexistence for all pets and humans alike.
What should I do if I want to bring my pet?
We advise you to reach out to us directly before booking. Please provide us with detailed information about your pet including breed, age, size, and temperament. This information will help us assess whether our space will be suitable for your pet and ensure a smooth stay for all.
Can my pet interact with your resident dogs and cat?
Yes, as long as it's safe and comfortable for all animals involved. We pay close attention to how our resident pets interact with guest pets, and we take every measure to ensure a peaceful environment.
Do you have pets at the coliving?
Yes, we have a cat that lives inside .
What activities are organised?
It depends of the interests of the colivers, but most common activities include: yoga, workouts, skillshares, workshops, games nights, movie nights, brainstorming, BBQ, family dinners, tastings, bon fire nights and many more outdoor and indoor activities. In addition to this we can organize a trips with local English speaking guides not only in Burgas and nearby, but in many places in Bulgaria, also we can support you if you want to make your own private trip.
Can I organize an activity for the colivers?
Yes, we will be very happy to do this. We really encouraging everybody to be proactive and to think about how the community can spend better time together. Skillsharing, cocking, brainstorming, gaming – outside or inside board games – anything you’re willing to organize that could be fun or useful. Just let us know and we will help you with everything that we are able to.
Do I have to participate in all activities?
You can join as many activities as you want, we fully respect it if you need some quiet time to recharge.
Do you have quiet hours?
Yes, from 11pm to 8am unless the whole house agrees on an activity where it would be otherwise.
Schengen update
On March 31 2024 Bulgaria became part of the Schengen zone.
What currency is used in Bulgaria?
Bulgaria still uses its currency, Bulgarian Lev but soon will join the Euro. At the moment for 1 Euro it’s 1.95 Bulgarian Lev. You can exchange money at the airport when you arrive in Burgas or withdraw it from the many ATM’s.
Is there a laundry machine?
Yes. We have both laundry and tumble dryer.
Are there hairdryers in the house?
Yes, there is three hairdryers in the house for common uses.
Are there irons in the house?
Yes, there is tree irons in the house for common uses.
Are towels provided?
Yes, they are included in the stay and provided weekly.
Is there call room in the coliving?
Yes, there is callroom in the coliving, for your private calls, equipped with monitor.
Will my room be cleaned?
Yes, on a weekly basis.
Why we don't accomodate to children
Our establishment primarily caters to adults and aims to maintain an atmosphere suitable for relaxation, tranquillity, and peace. While we appreciate and respect families, we have chosen to prioritize a certain environment that might not be ideal or safe for children.
One of the reasons we do not accommodate children is due to safety considerations. Our establishment is designed with adult-friendly amenities and features which might not be safe or suitable for children.
What is the minimum stay?
The minimum stay is one week.
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 25 days prior to your arrival, you can fully keep your deposit as a credit to use in the next 12 months. If you cancel between 25 and 10 days prior to arrival, we will keep a cancelation fee of 10% of the total amount of your booking and the rest of the deposit you can still use as a credit for the 12 months to come. If you cancel 10 days or less prior to arrival, your deposit will not be refunded. Any credit you have with us can be also be given to other people to use instead of you, if you can’t make it. Cancellation during the stay is not refundable.
How does the payment work?
At the moment of booking, you will be charged a deposit of 50% of the total of your stay. The rest of the amount will be due upon checkout. Your credit card information will be kept safely as a security for any potential damages.
